Saturday Shares....and Summer Plans

As promised...here is another special day on my blog...mostly to help me keep organized enough to keep writing! :D As seen in earlier months, I'm not good at that! Still have a few more theme days to reveal to you...but for now you know about Toot Toot Thursdays where I will be telling you about fun stuff I've found on the web (mostly etsy), and Saturday Shares...where I'll be sharing with you a new outfit or item I have in my shop, and telling you about something I've found interesting...could come from the internet, another blog, a magazine...who knows.....Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to leave a comment if you read this...I'd love to hear from you!

I'm currently in the process of applying for several art shows and open markets for the summer months, if you have any suggestions for fairs in the New England area, please let me know. I'm hopefully going to get the chance to try out a couple of new to me open air markets in Boston and Portsmouth. Keep your fingers crossed for me that the jury sees me fit to participate! :D

I've got several new outfits in the shop and am working on some for etsy as well. This outfit was worn at a fashion show in Boston I wasn't in love with the fabric for the top, but once the outfit was all done...I do love it. :D It is for the bigger girls...size 8-10. What do you think?

I ran across this little poem on another blog called Purdy Things. It really rang true with me so I thought I'd share it as well. I'm not sure who the original writer is, but I've seen it before and had forgotten it. This says a lot that really shouldn't be forgotten.

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my
first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately
wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a
stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind
to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my
favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little
things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a
prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always
talk to, and I l earned to trust in Him.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a
meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I
learned that we all have to help take care of each
other.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of
your time and money to help people who had nothing,
and I learned that those who have something should
give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care
of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have
to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you
handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't
feel good, and I learned that I would have to be
responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come
from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things
hurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you
cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of
life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and
productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and
wanted to say,'Thanks for all the things I saw when
you thought I wasn't looking.'
