Saturday Shares....and Summer Plans

As promised...here is another special day on my blog...mostly to help me keep organized enough to keep writing! :D As seen in earlier months, I'm not good at that! Still have a few more theme days to reveal to you...but for now you know about Toot Toot Thursdays where I will be telling you about fun stuff I've found on the web (mostly etsy), and Saturday Shares...where I'll be sharing with you a new outfit or item I have in my shop, and telling you about something I've found interesting...could come from the internet, another blog, a magazine...who knows.....Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to leave a comment if you read this...I'd love to hear from you!

I'm currently in the process of applying for several art shows and open markets for the summer months, if you have any suggestions for fairs in the New England area, please let me know. I'm hopefully going to get the chance to try out a couple of new to me open air markets in Boston and Portsmouth. Keep your fingers crossed for me that the jury sees me fit to participate! :D

I've got several new outfits in the shop and am working on some for etsy as well. This outfit was worn at a fashion show in Boston I wasn't in love with the fabric for the top, but once the outfit was all done...I do love it. :D It is for the bigger girls...size 8-10. What do you think?

I ran across this little poem on another blog called Purdy Things. It really rang true with me so I thought I'd share it as well. I'm not sure who the original writer is, but I've seen it before and had forgotten it. This says a lot that really shouldn't be forgotten.

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my
first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately
wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a
stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind
to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my
favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little
things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a
prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always
talk to, and I l earned to trust in Him.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a
meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I
learned that we all have to help take care of each
other.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of
your time and money to help people who had nothing,
and I learned that those who have something should
give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care
of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have
to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you
handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't
feel good, and I learned that I would have to be
responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come
from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things
hurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you
cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of
life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and
productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and
wanted to say,'Thanks for all the things I saw when
you thought I wasn't looking.'

TOOT TOOT Thursday! March 24, 2011

So...In an effort to get myself more organized so I can actually start using my blog, I've decided to assign themes for several days of the week...Keep checking back to see my other themes...and by all means, if you have a suggestion, please let me know!

Toot Toot Thursday's....what does that mean you ask....well...let me tell you. I'm going to be scouring etsy, the internet and wherever else I happen to see things that catch my eye and I'm going to toot the proverbial horn for several someone's on said Thursdays. I'll let you know if I've seen any of the products from each store or individual, or if I'm hoping to, in the future. With all that said...let's begin!

This beautiful, rosemary mint, soap can be found on etsy for $3.50 a bar. A great price for homemade soap! I am in awe and will be purchasing some as soon as I'm finished with my blog! If you are interested in this soap you can find it here They have lots of other lovely soaps and bath items in their shop. Be sure to check it out.

Next on my list brings us to the bedroom. Who doesn't love a pretty bed? This etsy shop has some beautiful pillows. Be sure to check them out! I love this one!

You can find these pillows here: Please consider checking them out, they are stunning!

If you are looking for something for your wall that screams SPRING! Look no further...this print is just beautiful. I can see this picture pretty much on any wall.

You can find this picture here: Please consider checking this etsy shop out, they have some beautiful prints!

Keep looking here for new products on Thursdays...and if you have something you'd like me to review, please feel free to contact me and I'd be happy to share your review with my readers and on facebook and twitter.

Hope you are having a great day! Happy Spring!

About that resolution....

So, apparently I'm not so good at sticking to resolutions! Note to self, TRY HARDER!!!!!. I have been working on my social media marketing plan....ie: a schedule for twitter, facebook and my blog. I'm actually working on it as we speak so this post will be short and sweet. I just came across a you tube video on facebook from American Idol Chicago try-outs. This guy is an amazing person. You should check it out.

So...New Year's Resolution! More Posts!

Over Christmas well..the week before, the week during and the week after sickness reined in our house. So...I've been absent...

I'm resolving to write here at least once a week from here on out...so look on Saturday's for new posts, I'm putting that day on my calendar as a blogging day. We'll see how that goes and perhaps I'll be adding another day to that as we go along.

I've been working on the schedule for classes in January and February...I'll be blogging more about them each week...here's the lineup as it stands right now:

All classes will be held on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 with the idea that the 8:30 is a loose time, I'm trying to gear toward two hours but if more is needed, I'm here. :D

In January:

6 "Green" Grocery Bags
13 Fun Scarfs
20 Doorway Puppet Theaters
27 Aprons Galore!

In February:

3 Sleep Pants
10 Simple Clutch Purse
17 Hubby's B-Day no class this week
24 Tassels Fun!

Kids February Vacation Week Camp 28-March 4

Pre-registration is required. Material lists or kits are available at time of registration.

During our kids vacation camps we break the days down into 2-4 hour classes and include a snack and story time for younger participants. We do crafts and sewing projects...the kids have a great time and it saves Mom's and Dad's from the ever popular I'm Bored Mom! for a few minutes anyway! Please share with your friends about our camps.

I just finished the cutest pair of custom overalls for a little boy. They are farm/John Deere themed...I'll be listing them on Etsy this week. What do you think of them?

I'll be hosting another give-away in the next couple of weeks...be sure to stay tuned! Winners of the December give-away were: Tim England, hand warmers Denise Mason, crayon roll Sara Martin, apron.

Thanks to everyone who participated!
Hope you all have a great week!!!!
